Flaxseed meal is just flax seeds ground up. Ground flaxseed and whole flaxseed have the exact same benefits because they are the same type of food. The only real difference is that ground is much more broken up. Because it is more broken up it is more easily digested by your body. Ground flaxseed has less of a chance of passing through your body without you receiving any of its nutrients than whole flaxseed. Ground Flaxseed can also be called crushed flaxseed. The two types of flaxseed that are ground are brown flaxseed and golden flaxseed. Although golden flaxseed is usually advertised over brown flaxseed, they are basically the same, and they provide you with the same benefits.
