Is ground flaxseed better than whole flaxseed?
I would have to recommend ground flaxseed over whole flaxseed. Ground flaxseed and whole flaxseed have the exact same benefits because they are the same type of food. The only real difference is that ground is much more broken up. Because it is more broken up it is more easily digested by your body. Ground flaxseed has less of a chance of passing through your body without you receiving any of its nutrients than whole flaxseed. Ground Flaxseed can also be called crushed flaxseed. The two types of flaxseed that are ground are brown flaxseed and golden flaxseed.
Ground Flaxseed can also be referred to as flaxseed meal.
You can buy flaxseed ground or whole at most grocery stores. I would recommend buying whole flaxseed because it usually costs less. You should also buy in bulk for a cheaper price. Then you can use a flaxseed grinder to blend it yourself. Flaxseed stays fresh longer in an air-tight container in the refrigerator, so I would recommend that also.
Thanks for reading about ground flaxseed!
