As you can see fish oil and flaxseed oil each have many benefits, and have much in common.  They both contain Omega-3 fatty acids which are very important to your overall health. I feel like the question shouldn't be "flaxseed oil or fish oil." I think that they should both be consumed for maximized benefits.  If you do end up choosing either or I would have to vote flaxseed oil. Although they have much in common and help in many of the same ways, sometimes fish oil can have high levels of mercury and it can be contaminated. Flaxseed oil can also have its own problems. Here are some Flaxseed Oil Side Effects .

There are also many benefits of flaxseed oil for weight loss .
