Flaxseed Oil and Pregnancy

Is it safe for pregnant women to consume flaxseed oil? Not a great amount of research has been done on this, but from what has been seen so far, taking normal daily dosages of flaxseed oil should not be bad for pregnant women.  Just because a woman is pregnant does not mean she has to miss out on all of the benefits of flaxseed oil. It should also be noted that there are some possible side effects of flaxseed oil that will still effect pregnant women, and could possibly have a greater effect on them.
One fatty acid, docosahexaenoic (DHA), that is recommended to pregnant women is not contained in flaxseed oil. Here are the possible side effects of flaxseed oil that could be increased when a pregnant women is taking them:

-bruising and bleeding that can be very difficult to stop

-headaches

-diarrhea

-allergic reactions

-slowing down in the absorption of medicine

Note the bruising and bleeding side effect. This could be especially important to pregnant women.
